About AmyCakes Bakery

Amycakes opened in August of 2009.  Specializing in decorated and custom cakes and cupcakes, Amycakes is a locally-owned, family business.  Everything is made from scratch so it tastes as delicious as it looks!

Amy

Amy has loved to bake all her life, but during her years in college she found herself tweaking recipes and baking at all hours of the night. The most rewarding part was finding hungry friends to test the finished product — and they weren't hard to find!

She graduated in 2008 with an Arts Administration degree, and decided baking was the only thing she could see herself doing for the rest of her life. It's an art form and a science, and she'll never grow tired of creating the perfect dessert!  Flavor is the most important element to Amy.  Everything you buy should be as moist, flavorful and delicious as it looks!

When she's not living at the bakery, Amy enjoys quality time with family, friends, and her vicious fluffball of a dog, Charlie. 

 
Sarah

Our main cake consultant and wedding consultant, Sarah recently graduated from MSU as a PR major. She enjoys long walks with her dog, Jolie, Dr. Who, and all forms of gelato and sushi. Sarah also enjoys brief periods of listening to bad pop music, arguing about politics and non-canon television couples, and being an over all tech junkie. She’s also an avid tweeter- @sarahgracesitz
Sierra

Sierra grew up in southern Pennsylvania, where she learned to love Amish food and desserts.   She misses the half a dozen day trip opportunities she had there.  She moved to southwest Missouri in August 2005 to attend college.  She's loved to bake for as long as she can remember, and she'll soon be finished with her baking and pastry arts certificate at OTC.  Sierra's been married to her wonderful husband Jeff for 3 years and they have a beautiful white Siberian Husky named Zoe.
