About Amy
I've loved to bake all my life, but during my years in college I found myself tweaking recipes and baking at all hours of the night. The most rewarding part was finding hungry friends to test the finished product — and they weren't hard to find!
I graduated in 2008 with an Arts Administration degree, and decided baking was the only thing I could see myself doing for the rest of my life. It's an art form and a science, and I'll never grow tired of creating the perfect dessert.
Flavor is the most important element to me — Everything you buy should be as moist, flavorful and delicious as it looks!
A special thanks to Randi Rae Anderson for my logo, to my good friend/ amazing photographer Samantha Hodges. and to Lindsey Dunning for all of her great photos.
Meet the Staff:
Amycakes first opened with only my mom and me working each day. Now I have one part-time and two full-time employees, and I asked them to share a little bit about themselves:
Jay
You may miss seeing Jay if you don’t come early. He also works at Whisler’s, the tasty burger joint a few doors down from Amycakes.
Jay graduated from MSU in 2009 with a B.A. in Communication and minor in religious studies. He enjoys Frisbee, reading, and thinking about the meaning of life.
Sarah
Sarah recently graduated from MSU as a PR major. She enjoys long walks with her dog, Jolie, Dr. Who, and all forms of gelato and sushi. Sarah also enjoys brief periods of listening to bad pop music, arguing about politics and non-canon television couples, and being an over all tech junkie. She’s also an avid tweeter- @sarahgracesitz
Jessica
The first official employee of Amycakes, Jessica has been enjoying and consuming food for a sizable portion…or rather all of her life. She is resident sprinkle expert and fondant sculptor at Amycakes.
She is an Olympic Fencer*, comic book enthusiast, trekkie, and international woman of mystery**. In her spare time, she frequently naps and talks about her cat, Shoe. Jessica is so awesome that they give her bi-weekly parades in Switzerland***.
